This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to https://www.laetum.org, and Laetum LLC ("Company") and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to the Company include https://www.laetum.org. The Company website is a Media Discovery and Creator Platform site. By using the Company website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.
I. Collection of Your Personal Information
In order to better provide you with products and services offered, the Company may collect personally identifiable information, such as your:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Pronouns, account/profile information, survey responses, preferences, and other information users voluntarily provide
Survey and research responses may be used to understand user needs, conduct research, improve Laetum's services, and inform product development. We may aggregate or de-identify survey and research information so that it no longer reasonably identifies an individual.
If you purchase paid products or services, payment information may be collected and processed directly by third-party payment processors. Laetum may receive transaction, billing, and payment-status information, but does not store full payment card numbers when payment information is processed directly by a third-party payment processor.
The Company may also collect demographic information, such as your:

- Gender
- Pronouns
Information you choose to make public through Laetum, including profile information, posts, comments, chat messages, and other community content, may be visible to other users or the public and may be collected or used by others. You should use care when choosing what information to make public.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you create an account, complete surveys or research, submit content, sign up for updates, communicate with us, make a purchase, or otherwise use our services. We may also automatically collect certain device, usage, cookie, and technical information as described elsewhere in this Policy.

The Company does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties.

All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to the Company, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA") and other applicable U.S. state privacy laws. These rights may include requesting access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, and opting out of certain uses or disclosures of personal information where applicable.
Laetum does not currently sell personal information or use personal information for targeted advertising. If Laetum introduces practices in the future that constitute the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, or similar activities under applicable law, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required opt-out methods.

The Company may keep track of how users interact with Laetum, including pages or features visited and content viewed, in order to understand usage, improve the platform, measure performance, and personalize the user experience. Where advertising is offered, this information may also be used for advertising and advertising measurement as described in this Policy.

The Company may automatically collect information about your computer hardware and software. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain the quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding the use of the Company website.

Laetum may use essential cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Site, maintain security, remember user preferences, and provide requested functionality.
Laetum may also use analytics technologies to understand how users interact with the Site and improve performance. We do not currently use advertising cookies for targeted advertising. If Laetum introduces advertising or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and provide any consent or opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law.

X. Right to Deletion
To request deletion of your account or personal information, contact admin@laetum.org. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request. Certain information may be retained where permitted or required by law.
Subject to certain exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will:
- Delete your personal information from our records; and
- Direct any service providers to delete your personal information from their records.
Please note that we may not be able to comply with requests to delete your personal information if it is necessary to:
- Complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected, fulfill the terms of a written warranty or product recall conducted in accordance with federal law, and provide a good or service requested by you, or reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform a contract between you and us;
- Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; or prosecute those responsible for that activity;
- Debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality;
- Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise his or her right of free speech, or exercise another right provided for by law;

XII. Age Restrictions
During Laetum's initial MVP, the platform is intended only for persons who are 18 years of age or older. Persons under 18 may not create an account or use the platform during this phase. If we learn that a person under 18 has created an account or provided personal information, we may delete the information and associated account. Laetum may revise its age eligibility requirements in the future as additional safety and moderation protections are implemented.
XIII. Email Communications
Laetum may send operational or service related emails, including account notices, confirmations, security notices, research communications, and other messages relating to services or interactions you have requested.
If you choose to receive marketing or promotional communications, Laetum may send you newsletters, updates, announcements, offers, or similar communications. You may unsubscribe from marketing or promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those emails or by contacting admin@laetum.org.
We may receive information about whether an email was opened or whether links within an email were clicked for analytics and communication performance purposes.
XIV. External Data Storage Sites
We may store your data on servers provided by third-party hosting vendors with whom we have contracted.
XV. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain user accounts, conduct research, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies an individual.
